SLM Aluminium 3D Printing Thailand

STRONG, STIFF & LIGHT WEIGHT

Our metal 3D Printed aluminium, also known as AlSi10Mg, is produced by cutting edge Selective Laser Melting Metal 3D Printing process. AlSi10Mg is an aluminium-based alloy with excellent mechanical properties, low weight, and corrosion resistance. Recommended for thin and lightweight design that still requires strength. Comes in raw matte metallic appearance. This material will have mechanical properties close to traditional casted aluminium parts.

ROBUST QUALITY

Right out of production, this material is raw metallic matte in texture. Support structures are removed by grinding. Areas that requires support structures may have slight marks or cosmetic imperfection. For more cosmetic demanding applications, we can also provide further glass bead polishing to a slightly more consistent and slightly semi gloss surface upon request.

INDUSTRIALLY CRAFTED

Our 3D Printed aluminium AlSi10Mg is produced by Selective Laser Melting system, also known as SLM Metal 3D Printing Process. Using this process, parts are constructed by sintering aluminium powder material via precisely controlled laser beam. During the build process, overhang regions are supported by supporting structures which has to be removed by grinding during post processing. SLM metal 3D Printing process allow higher degree of design freedom compared to conventional machining and milling process.

DESIGN FOR SLM ALUMINUM AlSi10Mg

Wall thickness for 3D Printing

Minimum Wall Thickness

We recommend the following minimum wall thickness:

  • 1 mm (parts ≤ 10 cm)
  • 1.5 mm (parts between 10 cm to 30 cm)
  • 2 mm (parts ≥ 30 cm)

Parts with Sufficient wall thickness is crucial to ensure successful print.

Embossed and Engrave Details for 3D Printing

Embossed and Engraved Details

For Embossed Details: Recommended minimum thickness of 0.5mm and height of 0.5mm

For Engraved Details: Recommended minimum thickness of 0.5mm and depth of 0.5mm

Clearance for 3D Printing

Clearance for Fitting

It is very important to allow clearance between the space of 2 objects, so as to give a freedom of movement between the gap. We recommend:

  • 0.15 mm (tight fit), 0.3 mm (standard fit) and 0.5 mm (loose fit).

You are advised to test out several iterations to attain a perfect fit.

Hollow 3D Printed Parts

Hollowing Model

It is not recommended to hollow out solid models in this material due to the need of support structure on overhang region during the build process. Support structure placement and removal should be the key consideration if hollowing is required.

Warp 3D Printed Parts

Reduce Warpage

For models with large flat unsupported planes, there is a risk of warpage. To prevent this, consider adding ribs as reinforcement to combat this issue.

Add ribs in moderation, adding them excessively may result in uneven cooling and further accelerate warpage.

Multiple Parts in Single File

Avoid Multiple Parts in a single file

Uploading multiple parts within a file may cause unnecessary delay in your order due to processing issues. Simply upload each part file separately for a smooth transaction.
